Hands Off Assata! Obama is the Terrorist!

On Wednesday, May 22nd, 2013 Black is Back Coalition forces in the New York City/New Jersey area held a “Hands Off Assata! Obama is the Terrorist!” conference. The goal of the conference was to recruit people who attended the demonstration into the BIBC itself and to further develop and advance the strategy to defend Assata Shakur and the African Liberation Movement within U.S. borders. The conference included presentations from various NYC/NJ based activists, militants and revolutionaries including Glen Ford (editor of Black Agenda Report and vice-chair BIBC), Domingo Estevez of Students United for a Free CUNY, representatives from the Revolutionary Students Coordinating Committee, Ralph Poynter of the Lynn Stewart Defense Committee, Lisa Davis (BIB Healthcare Committee) and Colia Clark of Haiti Commission Troops Out of Haiti Now, Carl Dix of the Stop Mass Incarceration Network and Betty Davis of the New Abolitionist Movement.
